After the recent announcement of closure to the Xtra gaming service as a whole (to be in effect 21/11/07), it wasn't much of a surprise to find the Gaming service and associated servers are already dropped, nearly 2 weeks before the announced date. This 'jump of gun' is being said to be of accidental DB failure. There's unlikely a fixing of this 'failure' before the proposed closure.

Because of this it has been a busy few days organising alternative servers to house the many players that continue to support and play this great mod and game =D. Luckily so, after only short talks with the team at Gamers.net.nz we're provided for our use a few high spec servers in order to continue to provide a home ground for NZ players. These servers will pick up from where Xtra dropped off where we will mirror near exact same server configs and banlists to what was on Xtra servers in order to make as little disruption to the change-over of servers.. while being able to provide a much larger base of players here at dc.nzbattlefield.

Skankyflat Gaming acquires NZBattlefield.com

Skankyflat Gaming has acquired the NZbattlefield.com effective immediately. These include the websites and respective databases for:

http://clans.nzbattlefield.com

Initially, the sites will be transferred to Skankyflat Gamings servers and left as is, with the only interruption being the DNS changeover period.

The final goal is to absorb the current NZBattlefield forum content and it's users into Skankyflats existing setup.

There is no final date set for this goal to be achieved.

Skankyflat will continue to support and maintain the NZBattlefield sites with help from the current NZBF team, and look forward to providing NZBattlefield with a long life as the premier Battlefield community in New Zealand.

Eve of Destruction v0.41 Released

Eve of Destruction v0.41 was released a few days ago but the files aren't exactly the easiest to come by.

We've mirrored the client files at the moment, server files (Wndows and Linux) will come later.

NZDC Season Two Grand Finals

+ (plus) and -NN- (No Name) in the tournament face off in the NZDC Season Two Grand Finals.

NZDC S2 Grand Finals This Week!

This week brings with it the Grand Finals for the NZBattlefield NZDC Tournament, to be played on Wednesday. Playing in the Grand Finals this season are two unbeaten clans - No Name and + (Plus). Both have shown some incredible team play and some fantastic skills, and no doubt the finals will be a fierce game, especially given the map for the game has just been announced as DC_Desert_Shield.

Keep an eye out on the news, we'll be announcing how you can keep abreast of this game shortly! The Play-off for Third and Fourth Place between dAUS| and [nts] is scheduled for Thursday this week.

Play in the lower-bracket continues for the next two weeks, on DC_First_Light and the Plate Finals will take place in the week before Christmas.
